RE-6 clock assembly guide videos
Video to show how to fit wood disk spacers to arbors. They usually need to be a tight fit. And also round off the corners for a cleaner spacer.
Assembly of the centre wheel and drum parts. Basic assembly of wheel to arbor already complete, as is drum. This shows assembly and string fitting setup.
Next 2 videos show the graphiting of gear teeth with a pencil. It greatly helps with smooth running. First video indicates the teeth to graphite. The second is showing graphiting the gears on the RE-2 clock gears, but the principal is identical on this RE-6 also.
RE-6 frame assembly. It is mostly held together with wedges into tabs. The top and bottom wall plates have parts glued to them to take the wedges. It all slots together then, as seen in the video. So the only parts glued are the 2 parts to the bottom wall plate, 1 part to the top wall plate, the 2 spines at the back of the rear frame plate, the string guide at the back of the front frame plate, and the upper dial clip into the front frame plate.
RE-6 main mechanism fitted to the wall after the assembly. It can be tested like this for a few days or weeks before progressing onto the hands and dial.
