Project 1

This is the second project, completed in Dec 2012
To convert the John Deere childs tractor to radio control, and make up and fit an onboard joystick

A few photos of some of the conversion work including building of the onboard joystick, design and etch out a printed circuit board to link the radio control receiver, and the onboard joystic, to the tractor motors, and steering servo.

Some testing of micro-controller programs pre-pcb design

Testing of tractor on-board joystick and micro-controller program

Testing of the 3 position switch, again using LED`s.

A drive test using the radio 20-11-2012

Fitting a 3 position switch for forward speed 1, speed 2, and reverse.

Testing of the micro-controller operation of the tractor, with throttle stick and 3 way switch

Demo of on-board joystick. Note how only the radio or
on-board joystick will operate the tractor, depending on which is selected with the radio.
